ARCHITECTURE
Can Martí, built approximately in the
17th century, was bought in 1994 by the Brantschen family.
The building was restored according to ecological criteria
using top-quality traditional materials and typical stylistic
elements. Since the beginning of the 20th century, many travellers
have been attracted by Ibizan architecture, which is rooted
in the Phoenician and Arabic cultures. It was in Ibiza where
the world-famous architect LeCorbusier conceived his system
of measurements, which was published in his universal work
"The Modulor". The personal styles developed by
Josep Lluis Sert, Erwin Broner, Philippe Rotthier, Rolf Blakstad
and Hans Uipkes show clear influences of Ibizan architecture.
The "Pino" apartment was designed by Hans Uipkes.
